OurNews is in active development.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- Whether you asked us to keep you posted on OurNews’s development.
- The fact and time that you opened the demo.
- If you register interest in the pilot: your name, your school, and your phone number if you give us one.
We send you a one-time code to check the address is yours. The code is short-lived and isn’t kept once it’s used.
Why we collect it
To open the demo for you, to keep a simple record of who has seen it while it’s in development, and — if you registered interest in the pilot — so Jacob can get in touch about whether your school is a good fit. If you ticked “keep me posted,” we’ll also send you the occasional note about how OurNews is developing. We don’t sell or share what you give us.
Who else handles it
Two services help us run this system:
- Vercel: hosts the demo.
- MailerSend: sends the one-time code, and the email that tells us you registered.
Your email address is kept in our own records. We stopped using a third-party mailing-list service in August 2026, so no one else holds a copy.
Analytics
If you accept in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, and on what kind of device. It sets cookies in your browser. Decline and we don’t load it, so no analytics cookies are set.
Removal
You can unsubscribe from updates at any time, and you can ask us to delete your email from our records. Email hello@ournewsletter.io and we’ll sort it out.
